An Instagram bio that gets orders: 5 ready examples

Your bio isn’t an intro, it’s your online shop’s signboard. The 5 parts of a good business bio, plus ready examples for clothing, food, salons and more.

Someone watches your Reel and taps through to your profile. They have about 3 seconds to work out who you are, what you sell and what to do next. That’s the bio’s whole job.

The 5 parts of a good business bio

  1. What you sell: the product and category, in plain words
  2. Who it’s for: your customer
  3. Price or range: “DM for price” creates confusion and half-finished DMs
  4. Trust: COD, exchanges, reviews, delivery time
  5. One CTA: what to do now, and where (link, WhatsApp)

Rule: one bio, one action. Five links and five calls to action means no action.

Before vs after

Before After
Fashion lover 💕 DM for price Pure cotton office kurtis ₹699–999 · Real size chart · 7-day free exchange · COD 👇 Order on WhatsApp

The second bio answers the customer’s 4 questions: what is it, how much is it, what’s the risk, and how do I order?

5 ready examples

  • Clothing: “Office-ready cotton kurtis · from ₹699 · Free size exchange · 👇 Order on WhatsApp”
  • Home bakery: “Eggless custom cakes · Jaipur delivery in 3 hrs · from ₹549 · 👇 Today’s menu”
  • Salon: “Bridal + party makeup · Vaishali Nagar · 4.8★ (300+ reviews) · 👇 Book a slot”
  • Coaching: “Class 10 Maths · Online batch · Free demo class · 👇 Register”
  • Handmade jewellery: “Oxidised silver jewellery · from ₹299 · COD available · 👇 Catalogue”

A small trick with the Name field

Instagram search also matches the words in your Name field. Writing “StyleStreet | Office Kurtis Jaipur” instead of just “StyleStreet” improves your chances of showing up in search. Just don’t stuff it with keywords.

Checklist

  • ✅ Can someone tell what you sell within 5 seconds?
  • ✅ Is a price or price range visible?
  • ✅ Is there at least one trust signal?
  • ✅ Is there exactly one clear CTA?
  • ✅ Do your Highlights cover Prices, Size guide, Reviews and How to order?

The course walks through this whole process step by step with StyleStreet in Episode 10: Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn management. Copywriting formulas (AIDA, hooks, CTAs) are in Episode 9.
