Episode 10: Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn management

Every platform has its own personality. Running Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn the same way is the most common mistake.

Imagine wearing the same outfit and saying the same things at a wedding, an office meeting and the college canteen.

Every platform is a different party. What works on Instagram looks odd on LinkedIn.

In this chapter we’ll set up and manage StyleStreet’s three accounts, each in its own style.

Three platforms, three personalities

Instagram

Visual discovery. People find new brands here; Reels bring reach.

StyleStreet’s main stage

Facebook

A slightly older audience, groups, and the control room for Meta Ads.

Page + local groups + ads

LinkedIn

Professional network. B2B, founder stories, hiring and partnerships.

Neha’s founder profile, corporate orders

In the Chapter 7 channel plan, Instagram was the main channel. Facebook and LinkedIn play a support role here, not full effort.

Setting up an Instagram professional account

A business can’t run on a personal account. First switch to a Professional (Business) account; only then do you get insights, contact buttons and ads.

Why put a keyword in the Name field?

Words in the Name field are also matched in Instagram search. Writing “Office Kurtis Jaipur” improves the chance StyleStreet shows up when someone searches that. Just don’t stuff keywords; it should read naturally.

Facebook Page and Meta Business Suite

Facebook’s biggest advantage: Meta Business Suite. Schedule posts, reply to DMs and see insights for both Instagram and Facebook in one place.

  • Page: same logo, same bio, WhatsApp button
  • Auto-share: share Instagram Reels to Facebook too, zero extra effort
  • Groups: give value in groups like “Jaipur Working Women”, don’t spam
  • Ads: all ads in Stage 5 run through this system
NotePosting “Buy now” directly in groups can get you banned. Be helpful first: styling tips, answers to office-wear questions.

LinkedIn: why would a clothing brand be there?

Working women like Priya are on LinkedIn. But there they’re in a professional mood, not a shopping mood. So what works there isn’t the product, it’s the story.

Post ideaWhy it will work
“How I started a brand with ₹40,000”Founder journey; people connect
“Working with Jaipur’s block printers”Local craft, purpose
“Corporate Diwali gifting: an order of 50 kurtis”The door to B2B orders (Chapter 43)

Rule: on LinkedIn, Neha’s personal profile performs better than the company page. People connect with people.

Daily management routine: a 45-minute system

Social media management isn’t “post whenever there’s time”. It’s a fixed routine:

TimeTaskMinutes
10 amReply to DMs and comments15
1 pmCheck scheduled post, add stories10
7 pmEngagement: genuine comments on 10 relevant accounts10
9:30 pmDMs at peak time + story poll replies10

Once a week (Sunday): batch shoot + schedule next week’s posts. This links to the Chapter 8 calendar.

StyleStreet’s real problem

One post, copy-pasted in three places

Neha posted the same caption (“New arrival 😍 DM now”) on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. Result:

  • Decent reach on Instagram
  • 3 likes on Facebook, all relatives
  • A LinkedIn connection commented: “This platform isn’t for shopping”

Fix: the content can be the same, but the angle, format and tone differ for each platform.

Practical example: One story, three platforms

Topic: “A new collection with Jaipur block printer Ramesh ji.”

Instagram Reel

15 sec: hand-printed fabric → kurti → office look. Caption: “Ramesh ji’s hands, your Monday look. ₹899.”

Goal: reach + DMs

Facebook post

The same Reel + a longer caption, a collection photo album, WhatsApp button.

Goal: existing audience, shares

LinkedIn post (Neha)

“3 years ago I wondered how to bring local printers’ work online…” + 2 photos, no price.

Goal: trust, partnerships

Your mission: Optimise StyleStreet’s accounts

Do this for a real small brand (or StyleStreet):

  1. Write the steps to switch Instagram to a Professional (Business) account
  2. Rewrite the Name field and bio: what, for whom, price, trust, CTA
  3. Decide the names and content of 5 highlights
  4. Make a checklist for connecting the Facebook Page and Instagram in Meta Business Suite
  5. Write 3 post ideas for Neha’s LinkedIn (stories, not products)
  6. Build the 45-minute daily routine around your schedule

Quiz

  1. The biggest advantage of an Instagram Business account?

    • A. Followers grow automatically
    • B. Access to insights, contact buttons and ads
    • C. Posts are boosted for free
    • D. You get a verification badge
    Show answer

Correct answer: B. Access to insights, contact buttons and ads

A professional account gives you data and business tools. Followers don’t grow by themselves.

  2. The best content for StyleStreet on LinkedIn?

    • A. “New arrival, DM for price”
    • B. Neha’s founder journey and the story of local craft
    • C. 5 product photos a day
    • D. Memes
    Show answer

Correct answer: B. Neha’s founder journey and the story of local craft

LinkedIn is a professional platform. Stories and expertise work there, not hard selling.

  3. How should a brand behave in Facebook groups?

    • A. Post a product link in every group daily
    • B. Helpful content and answers first, little selling
    • C. Reviews from fake accounts
    • D. Ignore groups
    Show answer

Correct answer: B. Helpful content and answers first, little selling

Groups are communities. Give value and trust follows; spam and you get banned.

  4. The right way to post the same content on three platforms?

    • A. Copy-paste the same caption
    • B. Same core idea, angle and format adapted to each platform
    • C. Choose only one platform
    • D. A different product on each platform
    Show answer

Correct answer: B. Same core idea, angle and format adapted to each platform

    Repurpose, don’t copy-paste.

Output for the client project

Your project file now has a Social Profiles Setup Sheet:

  • New Instagram name, bio and 5 highlights
  • Facebook Page + Meta Business Suite connected
  • 3 story posts for Neha’s LinkedIn
  • 45-minute daily management routine

Golden rule: Every platform is a different party. Don’t take the same clothes and the same lines everywhere. One message, different styles.

In the next episode: In Chapter 11 we’ll learn content’s most powerful weapon: the full formula for Reels, stories, carousels and short-form video.
